I found that on a 1-gig drive that was about 80% full some 300 megs were recovered after changing from FAT to NTFS. It really depends on how many small files you have. NT itself also has lots of small files that are part of the OS. Another thing about NTFS is that it will keep very small files in the MFT space.

BTW when you download BootIT NG and run it, as well as making a boot floppy (which would be no use here) it can also make an 'image' .iso file that you can use as the boot-sector image when burning a CD (Boot) in Nero or similar program. Remember to Finalise the CD on burning. You can then boot that and use it for

Yet Another Dual Boot Question
When you boot XP, the 98 partition will still be visible as C: and the XP partition will be designated D: or higher. This also means it will be extremely difficult to eliminate the 98 partition later if you decide you no longer want to keep 98. The way most third-party boot managers use keeps OS's totally

Before, I had NT/95 dual boot working fine. I had installed 95, then NT. This time, I installed NT first because I wasn't sure I even wanted to use 95 (it behaved badly with my old hard drive -- a problem I have attributed to the old drive itself...). So, two days ago I installed 95. I booted via a 95 boot disk

One for NT - NTFS and one for Win98 - FAT32 or do I still need to keep a FAT 16 for NT or both? Yes, you can definitely do with just 2 partitions. Both need to be primary partiitons (use PM to do this). Then use a boot manager (eg Power Boot or PM's own boot manager) to switch between them. Ben.
